Garage Doors Service Toronto

Whether your house was built from scratch or your garage needs some renovation, you have probably, at some point, thought about having your garage doors replaced. However, these essential parts come in different designs and you would probably now be wondering which one would best suit your preferences.
Garage doors are often the overhead type, which allows one to lift the door upward to let the automobile get in and out of the garage. It was in 1921 that the first of such types of garage doors were built by C.G. Johnson. Five years later, he revised his invention and converted it from a manually opened door to one that uses an electric garage door opener.
Among the types that need to be opened manually are the single panel garage doors and are made from one monolithic panel. Aside from having to get out of the car to open the door yourself, another disadvantage for such types of garage doors is that the vehicle must be stopped and parked a few feet from it to allow some space for the swing up arc of the door until it assumes its fully open position.
Another type of garage doors are the sectional ones, which from the name suggests are made up of six to eight panels, each of which has a connection to the door track, that slides up and overhead. Unlike single panel types, one’s vehicle may be parked very close to the door and still allow it to be opened.
The most common trend nowadays is the use of roller doors or corrugated steel as garage door openers. Its rolling mechanism consists of a preloaded spring, which reduces the effort in opening the door. Corrugated designs give the door added strength against impact although other materials such as fiberglass could be used when resistance against strong impact is not an issue.
